Finished Poles Service
We offer Pre-Finished Poles for an additional $25 per pole. This includes sanding, oiling and creating pencil point butt ends.
Keep in mind that most tipis with an 18-foot diameter are best complemented by a 15 pole frame, with an additional 2 poles allocated for the smoke flaps.
For larger tipis exceeding 18 feet in size, each additional foot will necessitate an extra pole to maintain stability and structural integrity.

To ensure the longevity of your tipi poles and preserve their natural beauty, we recommend a few essential care steps before setting up your new lodge. Prior to installation, lightly sanding the wood surface will facilitate smoother movement of the canvas during assembly.
The key to prolonging the lifespan of your poles lies in applying a wood preservative. We recommend a minimum of two coats of a mixture comprising four quarts of boiled linseed oil to one quart of mineral spirits, readily available at your local hardware store. This blend enhances water resistance and deeply penetrates the wood for long-lasting protection against the elements. Proper storage in a dry, sheltered area when not in use is crucial to prevent warping.
WE OFFER PREMIUM FINISH SERVICES: Noisy Creek Adventures offers a pole treatment service at just $25.00 per pole. Our workshop craftsmen will expertly sand, shave a pencil point on the butt end, and coat each pole with a protective oil finish, ensuring optimal durability and doubling the lifespan of a set of poles.
